What if all Americans could enroll in Medicare regardless of age

A Florida congressman once proposed letting anyone pay to opt into Medicare, but the amendment never received a floor vote.

What would happen to America if all Americans were allowed to enroll in Medicare, regardless of age? America would actually become a developed nation.

The proposed amendment

During the debate that eventually led to the passing of Obamacare, Allen Keys from Florida actually proposed this as a one page amendment to it to let anyone who is willing and able to pay for it to opt into Medicare.

What happened to the proposal

It was never given a floor vote and Matt Gaetz unseated him in the Tea Party midterms. America's expansion remained unvoted, though one commenter expected it to become a developed nation.
